Lifesaving Lessons Learned at Longfellow Middle School

Last week, Longfellow Middle School took part in an all-day CPR training event organized by Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation. The foundation was created in 2015 by Joel and Jennifer Griffin in honor of Gwyneth, their oldest daughter. Gwyneth collapsed unexpectedly during her middle school field day in 2012.

Congratulations to Emil Ragimov, on being recognized for outstanding artwork under the theme of “I will change the world by…” Emil won 1st place in Longfellow MS, 1st place in Fairfax County, 1st place in Northern Virginia, and 1st place in Virginia as part of the Virginia PTA Reflections Program. Congratulations Emil for your fine work, and always representing Longfellow!

2024 Regional Scholastic Art Awards Recognize Creative Work of FCPS Students
The 2024 Regional Scholastic Art Awards program has awarded Fairfax County Public Schools students in grades 7-12 a total of 714 awards for outstanding artwork, including 176 Gold Key awards, 172 Silver Key awards, and 366 Honorable Mention awards.
Fairfax County School Board Adopts FY 2025 Advertised Budget Focused on Most Pressing Needs — Competitive Compensation and Excellence in Education
On February 22 the Fairfax County School Board adopted Fairfax County Public Schools’ Fiscal Year 2025 Advertised Budget. The budget prioritizes the school division’s most urgent needs which include providing employees with competitive compensation to ensure each and every student has access to the world class education they deserve.
